Reader offer — terms and conditions
These terms govern the free month of Netritious included with each volume of The Performance & Human Physiology Encyclopedia purchased from Amazon. They apply to every volume, in every format.
The short version: one free month per person in total, no matter how many volumes you buy. It becomes usable when the platform launches.
1. What this offer is
Each volume of The Performance & Human Physiology Encyclopedia purchased from Amazon includes an offer of one free month of the Netritious platform (the “Offer”). The Offer is made by Netritious (the “Publisher”), and by no one else.
Every volume carries a printed code unique to that volume. The code identifies the volume you are reading. It is a means of access, not a voucher, and it has no value in itself.
2. One free month per person — the limit that matters
A person may receive a maximum of one (1) free month, in total, under this Offer. This limit applies regardless of how many volumes you purchase, how many formats you own, how many codes you scan, or how many accounts you open.
Free months do not accumulate, do not stack, and cannot be combined with one another or with any other promotion, credit or trial.
This is stated plainly because a single volume costs less than a month of the platform. Please do not purchase additional volumes expecting additional free months: you will not receive them. Buy a volume because you want to read it.
3. Who is eligible
You are eligible if you have purchased a genuine new copy of a volume of the Encyclopedia from Amazon, in any Amazon marketplace and in any format, and you are of the age of majority in your place of residence.
The Offer is limited to one redemption per person, per household and per payment method. It is open to new Netritious accounts only. It is not available to anyone who has already held a Netritious subscription or trial.
The Offer is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
4. When it can be redeemed
The Netritious platform is in development and is not yet available. The Offer cannot be redeemed today. It becomes redeemable on the day the platform opens to the public.
No launch date is promised, guaranteed or implied. This page is the authoritative source on the state of the platform and will be updated as matters progress.
If the platform does not launch, the Offer lapses. In that case no refund, credit, substitute or compensation of any kind is owed for the Offer, and the price paid for a volume remains the price of a book, which you keep and may read.
5. How it will be redeemed
Redemption will take place inside the Netritious subscription process. The exact steps will be published on this page before the platform opens.
You should expect to need the code printed in your volume, and to be asked to confirm your purchase — for example with an Amazon order number or a receipt. The Publisher may refuse a redemption it cannot reasonably verify.
A redemption window may be set at launch. If one is set, it will be announced on this page and will be no shorter than ninety (90) days.
6. What the free month includes
The Offer grants thirty (30) consecutive days of access to the Netritious subscription plan designated at launch, beginning on the day the free month is activated.
At the end of the free month, access ends unless you choose to subscribe. If a payment method is required in order to activate the free month, that requirement will be disclosed before you commit, and you will be able to cancel at any point during the free month without being charged.
The features included in the plan are those in force at the time of activation. The Publisher does not guarantee that any particular feature will be present.
7. Personal, non-transferable, no cash value
The Offer is personal to the purchaser. It may not be sold, traded, auctioned, transferred, assigned or given away, and it has no cash value and no exchange value.
A code offered for sale or resale separately from the volume in which it was printed is void, as is any redemption made with it.
8. Abuse
The Publisher may refuse, suspend or cancel a redemption, and may close the associated account, where it reasonably believes there has been abuse of the Offer. Abuse includes, without limitation: opening multiple accounts to obtain more than one free month; purchasing volumes for the purpose of harvesting or reselling codes; automated or scripted redemption; misrepresentation of identity or of purchase; and any attempt to circumvent the one-per-person limit set out in section 2.
9. Changes and withdrawal
The Publisher may modify or withdraw the Offer, and may amend these terms, at any time and without notice. The version of these terms published on this page at the moment of redemption governs that redemption.
If the terms are amended in a way that materially reduces the Offer, a person who purchased a volume before that amendment took effect will, on request and on reasonable proof of the purchase date, be honoured under the terms in force on that date, so far as it remains possible to do so.
This page carries a version number and an effective date so that you can tell which terms you are reading.
10. No medical advice
Neither the Encyclopedia, nor this page, nor the Netritious platform provides medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and none of it creates a professional relationship of any kind. Each volume contains a full notice on this point, which you should read. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before acting on anything you read.
11. No affiliation with Amazon
This Offer is made solely by the Publisher. It is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Amazon.com, Inc. or any of its affiliates. Amazon bears no responsibility of any kind in connection with this Offer. Questions about the Offer must be directed to the Publisher, never to Amazon.
12. Personal information
To redeem the Offer, the Publisher will collect the information necessary to verify your eligibility and to open your account — typically your email address, the code printed in your volume, and proof of purchase. This information is used to administer the Offer and to operate your account, and is not sold.
A full privacy policy will be published on the platform before it opens.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws in force in the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, subject to any mandatory protection your local consumer law affords you.
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force.
