With over 35 years of experience coaching amateur and professional athletes, Pierre Vinet is a recognized expert in the field of physical preparation and sports sciences. His career is distinguished by a holistic approach combining a profound understanding of biomechanics, physiology, and sports nutrition.
Academic & Clinical Background
His expertise is built on rigorous scientific foundations. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the Université du Québec à Montréal (1995), he furthered his knowledge by completing graduate-level studies in human biomechanics at the Université de Montréal (1997). He also holds a double College Degree (DEC) in Pure and Applied Sciences and Health Sciences.
To offer comprehensive coaching encompassing recovery and metabolic optimization, he acquired several therapeutic accreditations, including Certified Naturotherapist, Naturopath, and Certified Massage Therapist (Swedish massage), in addition to a recognized equivalency in kinesiotherapy.
Sports Leadership & High Performance Coaching
A prominent figure in sports education and methodology, he holds Level III (Theory) and Level II (Technical) of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) in multiple disciplines, including Olympic weightlifting, taekwondo, and boxing. His skill set also extends to endurance and functional sports as an accredited Ironman triathlon coach (CTS — Carmichael Training System) and a Certified Kettlebell Instructor.
His involvement in martial arts is particularly noteworthy. A certified 5th Degree Black Belt by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), he served as Chief Instructor and Technical Director for three schools from 1986 to 2008, including the Châteauguay Taekwondo Academy. His leadership led him to spearhead a social intervention program in collaboration with the Montreal Police Department (SPVM) in Rivière-des-Prairies, helping teenagers get off the streets. A true pedagogical pioneer, he co-developed and authored the Canadian Taekwondo NCCP Technical manual with Grand Master Chong Soo Lee and acted as a national coach trainer for Taekwondo Canada. His technical excellence also earned him the distinction of becoming the world's youngest International Referee for the WTF.
His combat sports background is complemented by a brown belt in judo, honed at the prestigious Shidokan with national team members, as well as Jiu-Jitsu training alongside the TriStar professional team.
Athletic Achievements
Pierre Vinet's authority rests not only on his knowledge but also on his own performances at the highest level. In natural bodybuilding, he was crowned Provincial Champion in 2003, Canadian Vice-Champion at the 2005 Drug-Free World Qualifiers, and took 3rd place at the 2008 Canadian National Championship.
In taekwondo, he dominated the provincial scene for six consecutive years (accumulating 8 provincial championship titles), was selected for three national championships, and represented the nation at the Quebec-Korea challenge. He also made his mark on the international stage, reaching the quarterfinals of the 1995 U.S. Open at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. In judo, his competitive journey was highlighted by an impressive streak of 50 consecutive victories by ippon.
Entrepreneurship & Consulting
Active as a private fitness consultant since 1988, he mentors athletes of all levels as well as coaches in training. From 2002 to 2004, he founded and served as President of NETRIENTS, a sports supplements company. Under his leadership, the company developed a revolutionary product line, growing from a startup to a distribution network of over 400 retailers across the country.
